A handshake that seals the deal: GSIS and Dragonpay team up to offer more convenient payment options to members and pensioners.

“GSIS Taps Dragonpay to Boost Digital Payments” New partnership promises faster, easier loan payments for members and pensioners

In a major step toward digital transformation, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has partnered with leading payment solutions provider Dragonpay to make financial transactions easier, faster, and more accessible for its members and pensioners.

The partnership was formalized on July 16, with GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo ‘Wick’ Veloso and Dragonpay CEO and founder Robertson Chiang signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to seal the deal.

“This agreement reflects our strong commitment to bring real convenience to our members and pensioners,” said Veloso. “Ito ang totoong pangarap na kailangan nating maipadama sa kanila—bahagi ng ginhawa na ipinangako natin.”

With Dragonpay on board, GSIS expands its network of digital payment channels, which already includes Bayad Center, MLhuillier, Maya, UnionBank, and Land Bank. The goal: empower millions of GSIS members to settle their loan payments securely and conveniently, whether online or in-person.

Through the partnership, GSIS loan repayments can now be made via Dragonpay’s electronic payment channels, accessible through the GSIS Touch mobile app and GSIS information booths to be rolled out during the launch.

For his part, Dragonpay CEO Robertson Chiang welcomed the collaboration, saying: “This partnership with GSIS marks a shared commitment to make government transactions more accessible, convenient, and responsive to the evolving needs of every Filipino.”

As part of the agreement, GSIS and Dragonpay will integrate their systems, ensure daily transaction reporting, and implement rigorous testing and audit protocols to maintain transparency and accuracy.

Both parties also vowed to strictly comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as well as regulatory standards set by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Commission on Audit. Strong security safeguards will be in place to protect users’ personal and financial data.

While minimal convenience fees may apply for certain transactions, these will be clearly disclosed before payment, ensuring that members and pensioners stay in full control of their financial activities.

With this partnership, GSIS continues to push forward its digitalization agenda—bringing government services closer to its stakeholders through innovation, security, and user-friendly platforms. TRACY CABRERA
