Veteran and well-loved stage and television director Fritz Ynfante died Monday and the local entertainment industry is paying him a homage not only as a professional artist but as a lovable person as well.
Fritz was known for directing “Bida si Mister, Bida si Misis,” “Penthouse Live,” among other toprating TV shows.
Here are some of the memories celebs treasure of Ynfante:
Singer Joel Macanaya of The Rainmakers: “You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, Direct Fritz Ynfante. You were the first TV director who gave our group, Rainmakers, the incredible opportunity to perform our signature song, ‘Binibini,’ during Mutya ng Pilipinas and Miss Asia Quest. Your kindness and support will always be remembered, my friend.
“May the choir of angels come to greet you, Fritz and may they guide you swiftly to paradise.
“Rest in peace, dear Fritz.”
Songwriter, talent manager and proponent of Kamalayan philosophy: “I was given the opportunity to serve as a floor director for Direk Fritz Ynfante on TV specials such as ‘Mutya Ng Pilipinas,’ ‘Miss Asia Quest,’ ‘The Helen Morgan Special,’ and many others. It was truly an honor to work with him, despite his intimidating voice over the headset during tapings and live broadcasts. Rest in peace, Direk.”
