What happens when a celebrated visual artist cum filmmaker and an Information Technology (IT) expert collaborate with each other to produce an innovative digital creation?
That we have to find out from movie director, scriptwriter and producer and prizewinning painter Bon Labora and IT entrepreneur Charlie Pena.
A traditional art form in modern contents and an immersive tech fusion make for a novel breakthrough in selling enterprise.
This is the mix of minds of Bon and Charlie when they created the All World Trade virtual trade show.
“Matagal na kaming magkaibigan ni Charlie at kinu-consult niya ako sa kanyang mga (Charlie and have been friends for the longest time and he consults with me his) entertainment and business enterprises,” said Labora at the launch of All World Trade virtual trade fair at the Matrix Creation Events Venue at 11 Malakas Street, Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City on Friday.
“Kay Charlie lang ang AWT. Support system lang ako (It is exclusively his. I am only at his beck and call),” clarified Bon.
AWT is an app and a website where visitors could talk directly with sellers and exhibitors in real time about products and services being offered by the entrepreneurs.
If the traditional trade show, for instance, at the SMX Convention Center or World Trade Center would require personal or offline presence of traders and guests for business explorations, Pena’s digital trade fair would only need an internet connection to bridge the seller and the buyer.
“Kung walang time ang seller at buyer, puwede silang sa bahay lang at magkakaintindihan na sila sa quality, effectivity at presyo ng mga (If both of them don’t have enough time to go to a hall, they can just stay at home and understand each other about their) items and services,” explained Charlie who said that last weekend (March 15, 16 and 17, 2024) virtual trade show was an interactive participation among registered exhibitors for free who were personally present in their booths to run through the virtual process.
“Sa ngayon, Metro Manila pa lang kami (For the meantime, we are within the MM area). Later, the whole Philippines and eventually, the world,” said Pena.
April 15, 16 and 17, 2024 is the next virtual gig.
“Bago ako mag-shoot ng pelikula ni Vida Verde sa Isabela, (Before I shoot the film, it is already” in place na itong AWT,” said Labora. BOY VILLASANTA
