This was how it happened during the running stint and the closing ceremonies of 1982 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maria Isabel Lopez’s mosaic art show at Usher Gallery in Petaluma, California recently.
1975 Miss Young Philippines Jean Saburit and 1975 Mutya ng Pilipinas’ Miss Photogenic Azenith Briones were vacationing in Los Angeles in the United States when they decided to pay their friend and colleague a visit on the other side of the state they were staying.
Maria Isabel was caught by surprise when Jean and Azenith stormed her “Illumination in Glass” exhibit that she gave all her commitments up that moment and devoted her entire day accompanying her visitors from the Philippines, a great hospitality a kababayan could offer in a foreign land.
“I love Jean and Azenith. My world stopped in the US when they saw me giving them an accommodation due the best friends I treasure for life,” exclaimed Maribel.
