Camalaniugan Bridge construction is on full blast

Camalaniugan, Cagayan (PIA) – The construction of the Camalaniugan Bridge project connecting the northeastern to the northwestern parts of Cagayan is now on full blast.

The project which is worth P2.43 Billion from the General Appropriations Act is being undertaken by Hunan Road and Bridge Construction Group Company Limited from China together with its Philippine counterpart, the Agafer Construction and Trading.

Long Quan, the Chinese project manager, said they are on schedule and he is optimistic to complete the project early next year if there will be no severe weather disturbances.

Engr. Elmer Escobar, the project engineer from the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 2, said the uniquely designated two-lane bridge has a length of 2.16 kilometers with three steel towers and will specifically connect Aparri West town to Camalaniugan town.

“They are ahead of schedule. They are very disciplined in working. Hopefully, there will be no major disturbances that will hamper the continuous construction works to complete the project on time,” Escobar added.

The Camalaniugan  bridge is part of President Duterte’s Build Build Build project through Governor Manuel Mamba. It is one of the five proposed major bridges in the province that will cross the Cagayan River.
