The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is set to hold Winds and Jazz: The CCP International Band Festival at the CCP Main and Little Theaters, Silangan Hall, and Harbour Square from July 26 to 31.

By Alvin I. Dacanay Filmgoers can expect a bigger Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival next month after the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) announced the return of its full-length feature category after a one-year absence, and added new sections and a new venue in Cebu City. 

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO), the country’s leading professional orchestra, made history when it performed to a full house at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 18.

Dacanay Filipino movies dominated the World Premieres Film Festival (WPFF) 2016 awards, with four of these winning honors in two of the festival’s international sections and Alvin Yapan’s latest feature earning the highest number of prizes in the Filipino New Cinema section.
