Chery Auto Philippines made a big step forward in its quest for the re-branding of its image with a change of leadership and a launch of a new hybrid crossover last Thursday at the huge ballrooms of City of Dreams in Pasay City.

Chery Auto Philippines chairman Rommel Sytin led in the unveiling of the all-new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid and in the introduction of Froilan Dytianquin as its new managing director.
“Tonight, Chery Auto Philippines begins a new era of change. We are embarking on a serious path in keeping the needs of our past, present, and future customers at the core of everything we do. With him (Dytianquin) taking the helm of the Chery brand as its leader, I am confident that Chery Auto Philippines is in good hands,” Sytin said.
Sytin was joined by his brothers (who also sit in the board) and several Chery International officials together with the special guest from the Chinese Embassy, minister counsellor Yang Guoliang.
The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid now joins Chery’s other value-packed crossover models that perfectly match various driving needs such as the Tiggo 2 PRO, Tiggo 5x, Tiggo 7 PRO, Tiggo 8 PRO, and the recently launched Tiggo 8 PRO e+ Plug-
The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with a 48V electric motor, just like the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid. This allows the engine to produce slightly more power and torque, as well as reduce emissions by 14%, and reduce fuel consumption by 13%. This powertrain combination produces 160 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. It is anchored on Chery’s Q-Power Global Platform, which is the culmination of Chery’s 25-year power technology development, spanning all future mainstream power forms including hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen. The state-of-the-art 48V hybrid technology brings further reduction in fuel consumption and emissions.
Meanwhile, the designation of Froilan Dytianquin signals Chery Auto Philippines’ major shift to a new era of change, growth, and innovation. He has more than 30 years of experience in the local automotive industry that started with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation for 26 years and then with Geely Philippines just recently.
“I plan to duplicate the same success story here with Chery. Under my leadership, I aim to focus on managing dealer engagement, rapid network expansion, proper product engagement, and promotions. We will also continue to build on Chery Auto Philippines’ strength which is aftersales as you know, Chery has been offering an industry-leading warranty which signifies Chery’s confidence in its vehicles,” Dytianquin said who also announcewd CAP’s new tagline, “There’s More to Our Cars”. “This statement speaks beyond a tagline, it represents a profound brand commitment.
