Global tech and services giant Concentrix has invested nearly P1.02 billion to establish its second site in Bacolod City—marking a major boost for the city’s IT-BPO industry.
The new facility, named Concentrix Bacolod AIU, spans four floors and over 8,200 square meters at the AIU Centre in Barangay Mandalagan. It is expected to house around 1,800 employees—referred to by the company as “game-changers”—with shared amenities also available for over 1,300 more team members from the nearby SanParq site.
Bacolod’s Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (DLEDIP) called the expansion a “game-changing” development, following muted industry activity last year.
“This news is received with great excitement, especially after we were characterized as ‘muted’ by CRBE in 2023,” said DLEDIP head Frances Mae Llamas.
In a statement, Concentrix Philippines Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer Amit Jagga said Bacolod AIU is “not just a new building” but a reaffirmation of the company’s long-term commitment to the region and its local talent.
“This new site provides us with a bigger space and excellent amenities that reflect the workplace of the future and significant potential for further growth,” he said.
The site’s launch on May 28 was led by Bacolod native and Concentrix Site Director John Robert Planta, who has 18 years of industry experience. He described the “Sweet Byte” launch as a celebration of innovation combined with Bacolod’s distinct local flair.
Llamas said the city is already seeing positive impacts from the expansion. Bacolod now has around 40,000 full-time employees in the IT-BPO sector, with 17 companies currently operating in the city—two of them new players. At least three existing firms are also planning further expansion.
“We are looking forward to a prospective collaboration with Concentrix for the training of their near-hires,” Llamas added.
Concentrix Philippines currently employs over 100,000 individuals across more than 50 sites in 20 cities nationwide.
