As far as children in Metro Manila are concerned, actors Daniel Padilla and Marian Rivera are their favorite Filipino celebrities, a survey commissioned by the Cartoon Network has found.
In a statement, the network said Padilla beat other famous personalities, such as American actor-producer Brad Pitt, British comic character Mr. Bean and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, to emerge as the top male celebrity. It added that Rivera came second only to American singer Taylor Swift as the top female celebrity.
Actor Coco Martin and singer Sarah Geronimo are picked as the children’s second-most favorite Pinoy celebrities.
Cartoon Network conducted the survey, called New Generations 2015 that analyzed the habits and preferences of today’s connected Filipino children, last December.
More than 500 child-parent pairs from affluent households in Mega Manila were interviewed for the poll. The children involved ranged in age from four to 14.
Both Padilla and Rivera are big fans of the animated series Adventure Time. The network congratulated the pair by gifting each with a pair of limited-edition Adventure Time Dr. Martens boots featuring Jake the Dog.
