Jamaika’s success story was shared at the DAR websitewhen she delivered an inspirational speech on her educational journey in Zamboanga del Norte to the current scholars of DAR last August 8

With DAR scholarshipnprogran, support,Jamaika was able to pursue her education without financial burden.

She was able to focus entirely on her studies and even manages to support her family. This has enabled her to finish her thesis, excel in her studies, and graduate with honors.

She said that more than anything, the scholarship had been a catalyst for her growth. Beyond the academic realm, the scholarship had also fostered in her the importance of perseverance, commitment, and self-belief.

For her, the DAR scholarship program inspired her to believe in herself and her potential

Knowing that the scholarship program entrusted her with the opportunity, it urged and motivated her to excel in her chosen field and challenge herself intellectually.

She is now a licensed Agriculturist after taking the licensure examination for Agriculture.

She received a certificate of appreciation from DAR provincial head Rizzel Villanueva (CESO VI) after her speech.

“The DAR Scholarship Program was instrumental in shaping who I am today, and I feel a strong sense of responsibility to give back,” she said.

In 2023, she said, she had the fortune to work in DAR.

While working full-time, she is open to the idea of pursuing further education to expand her knowledge and skills, make a meaningful impact and contribute to the continued success of the organization.

For her, this would not only enhance her professional capabilities but also enable her to contribute more effectively.

Jamaika thanked DAR for establishing the DSP-DARBs scholarship program, as the support had been instrumental in her academic journey. She also shared words of encouragement for her fellow scholars and those facing similar doubts and struggles – to not stop persevering.

“We may have different stories and journeys, but let us embrace our paths. Let’s not compare our progress to others; rather, let’s use it as an inspiration, not a source of comparison and pressure. Always remember that within you lies the future you aspire to. Believe in the power of your strength and abilities,” she said.

“I truly hope that the DAR scholarship program will continue to empower and help future generations of students, enabling them to pursue their dreams and aspirations. May my testimony serve as a reminder to our scholars that, If I can do it, you can too.” ROSE DE LA CRUZ
