The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) welcomed the appointment of Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda by President Ferdinand R. Marcos last week.
In a statement, DICT spokesperson Assistant Secretary Renato Paraiso assured the agency’s full support for Aguda in realizing Marcos’ vision of a “secure, inclusive, and progressive Philippines.”
“Under (Aguda’s) leadership, we reaffirm that digitalization, connectivity, digital inclusion, and cybersecurity will remain central to our national priorities,” Paraiso said.
Before his appointment, Aguda led the Digital Infrastructure Sector of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), advising the Marcos administration on strengthening digital infrastructure. He also held key roles in banking and technology, including serving as UnionDigital Bank’s CEO and UnionBank’s chief technology and operations officer.
Aguda replaces former DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy.
