Dingdong Dantes to watch films in US other 2023 MMFF entries he missed in Manila

Except for “Rewind,” a film he starred in with reel and real-life partner Marian Rivera directed by Mae Cruz Alviar for Star Cinema, Dingdong Dantes missed their other competing films at the recently concluded 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.

This time, Dingdong promised to see the other entries not in Manila but in the United States of America (USA) where he attended the opening of the first ever Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in Los Angeles, California on January 29, 2024.

According to Dingdong in his social media posts, he would watch the other movies while he’s in LA.

“Excited to see the other entries here, which I missed seeing in Manila,” noted Dingdong in his Facebook wall.

Dantes expressed his pride as husband of Marian and co-actor in the festival’s opening film “Rewind” which he said that a heartwarming performance was witnessed by the audience that night.

The actor commended the efforts of the MMFF and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in showcasing ten (10) beautiful films in the world stage.

“Another proud Pinoy moment, and another proud moment as a filmmaker and artist,” said Dingdong. 

The other nine entries at the 2024 MIFF are JG Productions’ “When I Met You in Tokyo” which starred Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon with the special participation of Tirso Cruz III directed by Conrado Peru and Rommel Penesa; Mentorque Productions’ “Mallari” which top billed Piolo Pascual directed by Derick Cabrido; BMC Films’ “Broken Hearts Trip” which featured Teejay Marquez and Christian Bables directed by Lemuel Lorca; Quantum Films’ “(K)Ampon” which showcased the acting chops of Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsay directed by King Palisoc; Jesuit Communications’ “GomBurZa” which headlined Dante Rivero, Enchong Dee and Cedrick Juan directed by Pepe Diokno; The IdeaFirst Company’s “Becky and Badette” which pitted the comic talents of Pokwang and Eugene Domingo directed by Jun Robles Lana; GMA Public Affairs’ “Firefly” which presented an ensemble acting led by Alessandrade Rossi and Euwenn Mikaell directed by Zig Dulay; Viva Films’ “Penduko” which starred Matteo Guidicelli and Cristine Reyes directed by Jason Paul Laxamana and Cineko Productions’ ” Family of Two” which displayed the thespic skills of Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards.
