DOTr ends contract with Common Station builder

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) formally terminated the contract for building the Unified Grand Central Station that links LRT 1 and MRT 3 after prolonged delays in construction.

DOTr sent a Notice of Termination of their contract with the consortium of BF Corporation and Foresight Development and Surveying Company (BFC-FDSC).

“Now that we have terminated the contract with BF Corp. and Foresight Development and Surveying Co, we can finally move on with the construction,” said DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon.

However, the transportation department has yet to provide specific details on the next steps. These include the bidding process for the contract.

The common station is envisioned to link major railways Light Rail Transit Line 1, Metro Rail Transit Line (MRT) 3 and MRT 7.
