Dr. Sam Bernardo’s Growing Showbiz Circle Puts the Spotlight on Oral Health

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — Dr. Sam Bernardo is proving that in showbiz, a confident smile is more than just part of an artist’s look—it can also become a platform for promoting better oral health.

The founder and CEO of Awesam Smile Dental Clinic is gaining a stronger presence in the entertainment scene as more celebrities and young personalities become part of the clinic’s growing roster of ambassadors.

Among them are Mika Salamanca, Bianca de Vera, Jaz of G22, and Daniel Matsunaga, who recently joined Dr. Bernardo at the grand opening of the clinic’s ninth branch at Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig. Recent entertainment coverage highlighted the four personalities as part of the celebration.

Matsunaga remains one of the personalities closest to the story of Awesam Smile, having served as the clinic’s first endorser.

De Vera, meanwhile, has also been openly talking about the importance of taking care of her smile. In a recent Manila Standard interview during the opening of Awesam Smile’s Venice branch, she discussed oral health and what makes her smile these days.

The growing celebrity connection puts Dr. Bernardo in a unique position: bridging dentistry, beauty and showbiz while using the popularity of her ambassadors to make oral health conversations more relatable to a wider audience.

But for Bernardo, the goal is not simply to create picture-perfect smiles.

“Dental care should never be a luxury. It’s a basic need, and I’ll keep working to make it available to everyone,” she said.

She has likewise reminded patients not to choose dental procedures simply because they are cheaper, particularly when it comes to braces and other long-term treatments.

“Invest in your oral health. Kasi ang oral health, ang ngipin natin hindi lang yan parang pampaganda or ngiti lang,” Bernardo said, stressing that healthy teeth are important not only for appearance but also for everyday functions such as speaking and eating.

With Mika Salamanca, Bianca de Vera, G22 and Daniel Matsunaga now part of the clinic’s celebrity circle, Awesam Smile is increasingly becoming a familiar name in the entertainment industry.
