For such an affordable price, one will feel a new driving experience comparable with some of the notable cars in the market today.
There are two variants available in the market today – the S and the Comfort that sell for an introductory price of P698,000 and P798,000, respectively.
The one we have driven is the Comfort variant that is full of features one need in negotiating the metro roads regularly. The red-color car is very good looking and stands so handsomely on its dark 16” alloy wheels. Its distinct styling is simply irresistible and a head-turner for such a subcompact SUV of Chinese origin.
The 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gas engine is good enough to make your every driving as easy as possible as it delivers 102 horsepower and a superb 142 Nm of torque. You don’t need that much when driving around the metro with all the traffic and gridlocks, but drive it up on a highway for a provincial getaway you won’t be denied the fun on the accelerator.
The Comfort or the continuously variable transmission variant comes equipped cruise control, a reverse camera with dynamic guide lines, a back-up sensor, and a sunroof too. Some of these are lacking in much expensive cars in its segment. What is more surprising is that this car has also the Hill Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Traction & Stability Control to boot.
What make it more practical are the large 500-liter cargo volume and the ground clearance of 195mm that is excellent for carrying large amount of things and wading through the flooded streets of Metro Manila every time it rains.
It has versatile 3-driving modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport — to suit your taste while you can feel the suspensions – front and back – working superbly while you are seated comfortably inside with all the interior amenities – 8” Infotainment with 6 speakers, and electronic airconditioning.
