Enchanted Kingdom (EK) recently launched “Eldar’s Magical Charity Tour,” its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
CSR is EK’s lifetime mission, and this program signals its commitment to help improve the quality of life of select communities and society at large.
EK provided 20 charitable institutions with a rare opportunity to experience its magic right where they are.
With the charity tour, EK brings the magic of good cheer to abandoned and abused children, the neglected elderly, the disabled, and the terminally ill.
This CSR campaign kicked off on Feb. 3, with EK visiting five non-government organizations (NGOs): Pag-asa Youth Rehabilitation Center, Hope Worldwide Philippines, Tahanan ni Maria, Bahay Pag-asa and Bahay Parola “Grace Home.”
Together with EK’s ambassadors Eldar the Wizard and Princess Victoria, volunteer cast members (CMs, as EK employees are called) sought to bring love and cheer wherever they went with special EK songs and dances. CMs from different sections of the park also shared personal donations and company distributions. Their best reward: heartwarming responses.
“Thankful kami sa pagpunta ng Enchanted Kingdom dito. Natuwa talaga ang mga bata sa gift na binigay niyo,” said Myla Suriaga, head teacher of Hope Worldwide Philippines.
“Very enchanting! This is the first time that Enchanted Kingdom visited. Of course, we are very happy. The parents are not capable to send them to Enchanted Kingdom, and with us, we have limited funds for food only,” said Virginia Peralta, social-welfare head of the Pag-asa Youth Rehabilitation Center.
Luzviminda Mapa Batugal, a roving social worker form Bahay Parola said: “Napalaking saya ang binigay ng Enchanted Kingdom para sa mga bata. Thank you po. Sana hindi po ito ang huli.”
EK’s visit to the elderly was no less magical—bringing hopeful smiles all around as some elders shared personal stories, while others wowed everyone else with their special dance moves, in step with EK’s energetic CMs.
“Ang Tahanan ni Maria ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa pagkakaroon po ninyo ng panahon na kami ay dalawin. Alam ko pong hindi ito ang umpisa, ito ang simula ng tuloy tuloy na pagtulong sa atin ng EK,” said Dory Bantatua, center head of Tahanan ni Maria.
