Erik Matti’s opus, John Arcilla’s Coppa Volpi film premieres at CCP’s “Wagi”

For the mainstream showing of award-winning Filipino films during the pandemic, internationally acclaimed filmmaker Erik Matti’s “On The Job: The Missing 8” will hit the screen of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)’s Main Theater on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 5 pm.

“OJT: The Missing 8,” where Filipino actor John Arcilla won the distinguished Copp Volpi plum from the 78th Venice International Film Festival in Italy, is part of the “Wagi: Celebration of Filipino Excellence in culture and the arts being spearheaded by CCP.

The Philippine premiere of the Matti masterpiece, according to Lei Ganaden, will be followed by a short program that includes the formal presentation of the Volpi Cup to John and a talkback with special guests.

Aside from the event being presented by CCP, it is enjoined by the Asian Cultural Council Philippines Foundation, Reality MM Studios and Globe Studios.

In its in-person screening, though, application of health protocols is in place like wearing of masks and face shields, spraying or rubbing of sanitizers and disinfectants and observing physical distancing.
