
It was a sad day for showbizlandia when Romano Vasquez, former matinee idol and ex-member of the popular youth-oriented television program “That’s Entertainment died early Sunday at his home in Cavite City.
“Local show business is mourning again,” exclaimed progressive entertainment writer and editor Art Tapalla also known as Leon Tabuena.
“Grabe ang nangyari kay Romano. Parang bigla ang kanyang pagkamatay. Nakikita ko sa kanyang mga social media outlets lately na marami pa siyang ipino-post sa kanyang wall (What happened to Romano was something else. His death was so sudden. I was just seeing lately in his social media outlets many of his posts,” observed Art, a popular and bitchy columnist.
Although the cause of death of Romano wasn’t mentioned by his wife Alma Panuelo Dila, she and her kids were beside her husband in his passing.
According to entertainment writer Mell T. Navarro, those in show business who want to pay their last respects to Romano, the actor laid in state at the Imperial Funeral Service (formerly Herald Funeral Services) in Purok 6 Barangay De Ocampo, Trece Martires City, Cavite Province.
He was 51.
