Even after Jaclyn Jose’s inurnment of her ashes, there are still rumors that the actress might have died of suicide and foul play apparently an indication of a SOCO yellow line surrounding her house in Quezon City where she was found lifeless in the morning of March 2, 2024.
Even if Jaclyn’s daughter Andi Eigenmann had delivered in a press conference that her mom died of myocardial infarction or a heart attack, rumor-mongers and purveyors of fake news would still sow intrigue and malice on her passing.
One movie reporter even theorized if not speculated that aloneness could have driven her in taking her life away, just like what happened to award-winning actor Ronaldo Valdez.
Jaclyn was in her lonesome at home when she breathed her last.
“Her house help had requested for a vacation in the province which she allowed,” recalled Jose’s elder sister, semi-retired actress Veronica Jones.
“No. There was no foul play,” clarified Veronica.
Suicide was also ruled out.
“May mga pulis lang para imbestigahan ang nangyari (There were police authorities to investigate on the incident),” explained Jones.
Meanwhile, the prestigious Cannes Film Festival paid homage to Jaclyn as its 2016 Palme d’Or Best Actress for Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Ma’ Rosa.”
“As with so many of her roles, she illuminated this beautiful portrait of a woman, embodying it with grace and humanity,” cited the recognition.
