Imagine an evening of art and culture, with ethnic-inspired fashion on the ramp, combining the artistry and craftsmanship of established artists from both the Philippines and Indonesia. It happened one night recently.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts, through its Culture and Diplomacy Program and in partnership with the Embassy of Indonesia, organized the Two Nations One Fashion: Renee Salud x Merdi Sihombing on 22 November 2024 at Whitespace, Makati.
Salud and Sihombing are both leading fashion designers in the Philippines and Indonesia.
This initiative is in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the Philippines – Indonesia bilateral relations and part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Republic of the Philippines and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia this year.
The event featured a wide array of cultural performances, including a fashion show that showcased the creations of the two renowned fashion designers. The celebration also featured culinary delights from both countries.
