Globe Telecom, through its premier postpaid brand Globe Platinum, became the first Philippine telecommunications company to bring the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to Filipino customers when it gave its Platinum members an exclusive sneak peak of the latest smartphones of one of the world’s leading device manufacturers.
In partnership with South Korea-based Samsung Electronics, Globe Platinum recently hosted an exclusive viewing of the latest Samsung smartphones for its customers in a strictly-by-invitation affair at its Globe store in Makati City’s Power Plant Mall.
“Globe Platinum is not just about giving customers the best connectivity, but also about providing wonderful experiences that reaffirm our commitment in making customers our top priority. As such, we worked with Samsung to bring its highly anticipated smartphones— the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge—first in the country to ensure that we give our premier customers the privilege of being the first to see and experience [them],” Globe Vice President for Platinum and Roaming Business Coco Domingo said.
During the exclusive viewing, Globe Platinum and Platinum Elite members were treated to a private demonstration of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Plus, those customers who wanted to reserve a unit could already select the variant of their chosen model even before the smartphones become actually available to Filipino consumers.
The viewing kicked off with ambassadors greeting Platinum members as they arrived. These members were then ushered to the Globe store’s Platinum Lounge, where recently flown-in Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge units were waiting to be viewed. Throughout the product demonstration, sweet treats and refreshments were served to ensure that Platinum members enjoyed every single minute of the experience.
Some of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge features that Platinum members fancied were the innovative design and glass-like metal finish on both smartphones, as well as the remarkable 5.1’’ OHD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. Other S6 and S6 Edge highlights are the advanced photo technology powered by the 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, as well as the fast-charging battery with wireless-charging capabilities.
Assisting Platinum members in making their pre-orders were Platinum relationship managers. Some members acquired new lines, while others had their plan contracts renewed and upgraded to get the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.
Succeeding legs of the exclusive viewing event were held in Globe stores at Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City and SM North Edsa in Quezon City. Platimum and Platinum Elite members may pre-order until April 17.
