Ian de Leon perplexed about memorial mass for one-year death anniv of Nora Aunor

It’s the cord that binds body and soul between a mother and child.

It is more than the love, affection and care of a son to his mom.

Kristoffer Ian de Leon, simply called Ian, has been fond of his mother, the eternal Superstar, the National Artist for Film and Broadcast Nora Aunor now and beyond.

On the observance of the first death anniversary of Nora on April 16, Ian is the point man in the celebration of her life.

He is scheduled to gather family, friends, admirers, former colleagues of the actress and other people who truly and sincerely remember her, say prayers, serve merienda and other foods, offer mass, and memorialize the life and times of La Aunor.

De Leon, though, is reportedly perplexed about the schedule of masses at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) in Taguig City because there is a news report that the loyal fans of the Superstar are also observing a mass in the same place.

But Noranians are quick to clarify that they aren’t holding a mass at the grave of Ate Guy at the same time of Ian’s schedule.

Nora fans have to contend with their separate posthumous program for their idol in a separate venue.

According to Marie Cusi, a certified Noranian, their mass is scheduled at the Philippine Navy Club, also in Taguig City at 5 pm to be followed by a program. (Boy Villasanta)
