It was actress Nadia Montenegro and entertainment writer Art Tapalla who witnessed the rants of Emma Ferro, one of the younger sisters of the late veteran and award-winning actress Angie Ferro, at the funeral wake of the latter.
According to Emma, there were fillers that Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Asia’s Sentimental Songstress Imelda Papin were coming to the sickbed and even death of Angie.
When Imelda learned about this complaint of the younger Ferro, she was adamant she didn’t know anything about it.
“Wala kaming kaalam-alam na maysakit noon si Tita Angie. Wala kaming pinagsabihan na dadalaw kami (We didn’t know anything about Tita—a term of endearment to an older woman or aunt by blood or by affinity—Angie being hospitalized. We didn’t advise anyone that we would pay her a visit).
“Ngayon din lang namin nalaman na namatay na pala siya. Kung hindi ka pa tumawag. Saan ba naman nanggagaling ang mga maling balitang ‘yan (It’s only now that we learned that she already passed away. If only because of your call. Where were all these fake news coming from?).
“Ito lang ang masasabi ko, kung alam ko lang ang mga sitwasyon, tutulong ako. Pupunta ako at hindi ko na padadaanin pa sa ibang tao (If only I knew the situations, I would help. I would go and nor pass through a middleman),” defended Imelda.
When Papin’s younger sister Aileen Grace Arcilla Papin learned about Angie’s death, she asked Art and I who she would connect with to extend their help and sympathy to the bereaved.
“The best thing to do is coordinate with Nadia Montenegro because she knows where to get in touch with the Ferros),” quipped Tapalla during the broadcast of the entertainment talk “The National Entertainment Today” over Media House Express (MHE) Facebook Live, YouTube etc.
