Kia Carnival gets more exciting

I’ve got the opportunity to drive the new Kia Carnival recently and two distinct features that really impressed me were the comfortable ride and it is very economical.

The Kia Carnival had just been launched last September but ACMobility, the official distributor of Kia Philippines, is very thrilled with the huge acceptance of its new vehicle that had set a new benchmark in the premium MPV category.

The new Kia Carnival immediately makes a striking impression with its contemporary and commanding design which make it more attractive among the Kia Carnival enthusiasts. Yes, it is big but very comfortable to drive.

The redefined tiger nose grille adds to its strong, sophisticated presence. The front fascia features unique vertical lamps and the captivating star map daytime running lights for enhanced visibility and a signature identity.  The multi-faced reflector type LED headlights ensure impeccable illumination while the rear of the vehicle is further refined with star map graphic rear LED lighting and a newly designed rear skid plate, blending luxury with functionality.

Its interior is very spacious and designed for both comfort and convenience for the occupants. Long journeys are both enjoyable and luxurious indeed. Driving it is very cool and easy while the other occupants are having first-class riding   experience at the back. Those who have already chosen to buy the new Kia Carnival have already appreciated its style and functionality.

The cabin showcases dual sunroofs to provide a spacious ambiance. A best-in-class 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display instrument cluster presents to the driver relevant vehicle information through a selection of customizable themes.  Automatic climate controls provide a customizable driving experience

The EX trim features leatherette seats, while the SX model comes with fine leather seats. The EX variant includes an 8-way power driver seat with 2-way lumbar support and second-row Captain Seats with reclining and manual long sliding capabilities.

The SX model offers an 8-way power driver seat with memory function, 4-way lumbar support, and ventilation, wireless mobile phone charging as well as second-row Relaxation seats with power reclining, cushion, and leg rest functionality.

The new Kia Carnival is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity. A 6-speaker sound system, six USB charging points, and a wireless charger (SX variant) deliver a premium entertainment experience. Additional practical amenities include three 12-volt 180-Watt outlets in the front, rear, and luggage compartment, along with multiple USB charging ports throughout the vehicle.

What makes the new Kia Carnival very economical is tucked under the hood with its 2.2-liter Smartstream turbo diesel engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It produces 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque, channeled to the front wheels. The Carnival offers four driving modes—Normal, Eco, Sport, and Smart—to further customize the driving experience.

Imagine, we visited a relative in Angeles, Pampanga and even went to Tagaytay the next day (that’s north and south trips, huh). We were really surprised when the fuel consumption was only half of the full tank before we started.

The new Kia Carnival exemplifies Kia’s commitment to safety through the Kia DriveWise suite of advanced driver assistance safety technologies. The SX model features Smart Cruise Control and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, enhancing driver confidence on the road. Meanwhile, the EX variant comes equipped with standard cruise control. A 360-degree Surround View Monitor is available across all models.

The Carnival also boasts a comprehensive safety package, including an 8-airbag system, front and rear parking sensors, and additional side sensors specifically for the SX model. Standard safety features further enhance peace of mind with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control, hill start assist, and ISOFIX anchors for secure child seat installation.

The new Kia Carnival is available in two variants: the 2.2 EX Diesel AT, priced at P2,888,000, and the 2.2 SX Diesel AT, priced at P3,368,000. Both variants come in Aurora Black Pearl and Snow White Pearl colors, with the SX variant will be available with a special Ceramic Silver color.  All variants carry Kia’s standard 5-year or 160,000-km warranty. The new Kia Carnival will also be complemented by the standard Kia 24/7 roadside assistance, providing emergency towing, minor onsite repairs, and medical and personal assistance. Andy Sevilla
