LANDBANK pours ₱33.4-B for Visayas growth

LANDBANK has expanded its support for local governments in the Visayas, extending ₱33.4 billion in financing while strengthening its digital banking network to help cities fast-track infrastructure projects, improve public services and promote inclusive economic growth.

The state-run bank highlighted its financing and digital solutions during the League of Cities of the Philippines’ 82nd National Executive Board Meeting and 2nd Visayas Cluster Consultation held in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

LANDBANK President and Chief Executive Officer Lynette V. Ortiz said the bank remains committed to helping local governments accelerate development through accessible financing and technology-driven services.

“Cities are at the forefront of local progress and public service delivery. By equipping our LGUs with tailored financing and digital innovations, LANDBANK is empowering local leaders to execute high-impact projects, streamline governance, and drive truly inclusive and sustainable growth for every Visayan community,” Ortiz said.

As of May 2026, LANDBANK had released ₱32.7 billion under its Local Government Unit (LGU) Lending Program and another ₱650.9 million through its LGU Multi-Developmental Financing Support Program. The funds have been used to finance infrastructure projects and environmental, social, and economic initiatives across the region.

To improve access to financial services, the bank has also expanded its presence in the Visayas through more than 2,000 banking touchpoints, including 107 branches, 691 automated teller machines, 13 lending centers and 174 LANDBANKasama partners.

LANDBANK likewise continues to roll out digital banking platforms that enable local governments to accept electronic payments, manage accounts, process payroll and collections, and facilitate government procurement through cashless transactions.

Beyond LGU financing, the bank is also supporting agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises, water infrastructure and renewable energy projects as part of its broader strategy to promote regional development, strengthen local economies and build more resilient communities.
