Lav Diaz opus wins in Venice

Internationally renowned director Lav Diaz’s newest masterpiece, “Makikiraan Po (Let Us Through, Dear Ancestors)” has just won the  Premio Brian (Brian Award), one of the special awards of the 83^rd Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

According to Bong Cabrera, one of the actors in the film about Spanish conquest of the Philippines, the “…Brian Award: the UAAR (Unione degli Atei e degli Agnostici Razionalisti)’s collateral prize at the 83rd Venice Film Festival!”
