Literary giant, multimedia artist Frank G. Rivera teary-eyed hearing T’boli Manlilikha ng Bayan

Two days before the ethno rock zarzuela “Ambon, Ulan, Baha” was staged at the historic Metropolitan Theater, its author Frank G. Rivera paid a visit to its rehearsals at the venue.

Many things streamed in Frank’s mind about his creation of the musical but the one thing that caught his fancy and imagination was the participation of musician from the T’boli tribe, Rosie Godwino Sula.

“I become emotional hearing ROSIE SULA, the MANLILIKHA NG BAYAN Awardee from T’BOLI, chant her lines as the major narrator of the play.

“Her inclusion in the cast stresses the concept that there is the true indigenous Filipino Theater Form even before the advent of the classics and Western influenced theater, that our very own is alive,” said Rivera. (Boy Villasanta)
