LTO launches online tracker for license and plate status

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched a new digital service that allows motorists to check the status of their driver’s license and vehicle plates through the LTO Tracker, expanding its online tools for public convenience.

The plate number tracker enables users to input their vehicle’s plate number to verify if it’s ready for pickup.

This service is especially useful for new car owners or those awaiting replacement plates. If the plate is available, the system displays the LTO branch where it can be claimed.

In cases where a plate number doesn’t appear in the tracker, users are required to provide additional details such as their motor vehicle (MV) file number, name, birthday, contact information, and the LTO office where the transaction took place. This helps LTO update its database and provide accurate status updates.

The tracker also supports driver’s license inquiries. Users can check if their license is available for delivery or pickup by entering their license number and date of birth. If no record is found, they must input their LTMS (Land Transportation Management System) client number and other personal details for verification.

While driver’s licenses are typically issued on the spot at LTO offices, the new tool adds a layer of convenience for those experiencing delays or awaiting reissuance.

With the new LTO Tracker, the agency aims to improve transparency, reduce waiting times, and provide easier access to information for Filipino motorists.
