Missing 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray during National Heritage Month fete this May

In most National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) major events, expect its ambassador 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray to be in attendance sharing her precious time and throwing her pretty face around to promote local arts and culture.

In the celebration of National Heritage Month, though, that started last March but largely performed in May, Catriona’s participation isn’t in the calendar of events provided for the press like FHFI 6th Essay Writing Contest Youth Category that commenced in March but winners will be announced in June; April to May Larry Alcala exhibit in Santa Barbara, Iloilo; Heritage Quiz the whole of May; BalagtaSayAwit ng Bulacan today; Heritage Tours on May 9; Youth Forum on Heritage on May 27-29 either in Iloilo or Romblon; Performance tributes to Sylvia la Torre by soprano Rachelle Gerodias directed by Dennis Marasigan at the Metropolitan Theater on May 29; Symposium on Philippine crops on May 30 7 pm at the National Museum–Natural History and Traveling Exhibits the whole of May, nowhere is Gray’s participation.

Maybe the beauty queen will squeeze in her schedule anytime in any occasion.

This year’s theme of the celebration is “Preserving Legacies, Building Futures: Empowering Communities Through Heritage” which the various subcommissions enjoined with other festivities that kicked off in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte last week.

In essence, NHM is enhancing the roles of every committee in the promotion of Filipino arts and culture. (Boy Villasanta)
