It started when the Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSSA) issued a report that a certain staff from the office of Senator Panfilo Lacson had smelled from an adjacent ladies’ room an odor akin to marijuana smoke.
Prior to Sen. Ping Lacson’s staff’s discovery on August 12, 2025 about a marijuana-like smell emanating from the women’s powder room, there was a first incident of a hash-like scent coming from the same Comfort Room which was smelled by a security personnel in July.
Sen. Lacson’s office staff and the security guard had concurred that the one inside the toilet was a staff of Senator Robinhood Padilla.
From a report submitted by a security personnel, OSSA then identified a certain ‘Nadia Montenegro’ was the same person who was inside the comfort room at the time of the two successive incidents.
Judging from the identities of the staff of Senator Padilla, there was indeed a personnel from his office by the name of Nadia Montenegro who turned out to be the actress who is a political officer of the actor-politician.
Meanwhile, Sen. Padilla’s Chief of Staff Atty. Rudolf Philip Jurado had confirmed that their office had received a copy of the report and said Nadia knew about it.
Earlier, the actress denied to the security personnel that she used joint inside the ladies’ room but acknowledged that she had a vape inside her bag that when lighted up could emanate a marijuana-like odor from the gadget’s preferred flavor.
This writer has been contacting Montenegro in her Facebook Messenger but the actress hasn’t responded as of presstime.
Atty. Jurado assured the public that they would abide the Senate’s investigation on the case.
The lawyer also affirmed that Montenegro would undergo a drug test. (Boy Villasanta)
