Wanted: Enormous prayers for Kris Aquino

Not only prayers, but huge prayers, are needed in times like this.

If they are requested for the sake of the so-called Queen of All Media Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino, plainly known as Kris Aquino, it isn’t purely personal.

They even go beyond socio-political dimensions because she is a scion of national leaders however past.

Like anyone else, Kris’ health situation is Philippine society’s concern as well.

She, primarily, is a human being, a private citizen just like you and me who go through physical pains, however, in any shape, size or degree. We need to care for each other.

Big or small, fan or not, we share, sympathize or empathize with people in distress, political friends or foes.

We feel sorry for the bad luck brought to political enemies who sinned against their people but God, and we still hold them responsible and accountable for those sins.

We call it Christian virtue.

At this hour of mercy and compassion, we should storm the gates of heavens to save Aquino from harm or worst, death.

Even Kris has suspected that her followers have stopped praying because, according to her Instagram posts, “…my

autoimmune diseases were increasing in number & my life threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice. Trust me it’s difficult to accept every night when i sleep that there may be no tomorrow for me.”

Aquino disclosed in her socmed spaces that she would be in a preventive isolation for six months inside the compound of their Cojuangco estate in Tarlac she fondly calls Alto.

She came to that decision, informed the actress, after almost two months of stay in a private beach property owned by a kind and generous family who wanted to regain her health and strengthen her faith in God’s merciful healing.

In her isolation, Kris said she will have another six-to-eight-hour infusion session in six days.

She added that it’s one of the strongest autoimmune immunosuppressants together with her two other, one taken daily, and one given through injection that she said will totally wipe out her immunity.

Kris will be away from her two sons, Joshua (whom she always addresses as Kuya), who would be living in with her genuinely super loving cousin.

“…Since the deaths of his Lola Cory, Lola P, and tito Noy, seeing me frail, weak, often attached to my IV drip- kuya is traumatized, visibly shaking, repeating ‘mama get well, i love you…,”; she wrote, and Bimby, “…now 18 has sacrificed much to take care of me. He is heaven’s gift, my optimistic adult who reminds me i should ‘never surrender.”

Hope springs eternal for Kris that after her treatments and eventual recupetation, she and Bimby will reveal and show us everything for the first time.

She again asked for incessant prayers.

The TV host thanked all the medical ptofessionals who cared for her at the hospitals she was confined.

“…and all who continue to believe gagaling pa rin ako (that I will still survive),” she ended her messages with the hashtag “#tuloyanglaban (continue the fight).

I thought I would meet Tori Fernandez, Rap and Leana Fernandez’s daughter, and Lorna Tolentino’s granddaughter, at the 2025 Palawan International Choral Festival (PICF) in Puerto Princesa City that culminated last Saturday.

I was looking for Tori among the members of Woodrose Chorale that competed in the fest but she was nowhere to be found.

The Fernandez girl is a soprano in the choir from Ayala Alabang.

According to Boots Carballo, the group’s conductress, Tori is on leave from the choir because she wants to maintain her academic grades.

“Pero babalik din siya (But she’ll be back),” assured Carballo.

Tori was with the Woodrose Chorale when it competed in Spain recently.

LT accompanied her.
