NCSC conducts strategic planning/meeting for the 2023 Elderly Filipino Week celebration

The culmination of the two-day orientation workshop on the proposed NCSC gender and development (GAD) program and strategic planning for the 2023 Elderly Filipino Week (EFW) celebration ended on Saturday at the Luxent Hotel at Timog Ave. in Quezon City.

National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Chairman Franklin Quijano led a complete cast of the commission’s leadership and heads of offices in attending the two important events. 

 Chairman Quijano in closing remarks after doing the opening of the GAD workshop on Friday, thanked the NCSC leadership for taking precious time even on off-day. 

 He also thanked the highly enthusiastic NCSC key officials and staff for their passion and energy for a very worthy cause but admits that there’s a lot more to be done with the two programs at hand. 

 Raising the energy level was overall program secretariat head EA IV Dr. Chin Gallenero as she explained the workshop mechanics and shared strategic plans and preparations for the week-long EFW celebration from October 1-7. 

 Providing valuable support, expertise and veteran leadership were Chairman Franklin Quijano and Comms. Ida Yap-Patron, Enriqueta Rodeles, Edwin Espejo, Rainier Cruz and Reymar Mansilungan. 

 A total of six possible sites across the country were named as venues of the simultaneous events as part of the 2023 EFW celebration and divided as follows: 

 NCSC Chairman Franklin Quijano will lead the festivities at the SM Mall Of Asia (MOA) Comm. Reymar Mansilungan in SM City Baguio, 

Comm. Rainier Cruz SM City Batangas or Lucena, Comm. Ida Yap-Patron in SM Ecoland, Comm. Enriqueta Rodeles at Robinsons Tacloban and Comm. Edwin Espejo at SM GenSan of Robinsons in CDO. 

 Part of the the all-important activity workshop was later delivered with subcommittees formed to work on the following areas: Program committee, secretariat, Publicity and creative content, Ways and means, Budget & finance and Awards & Recognition Evaluation.
