
The NCSC has actively taken part in two-day seminar-workshop on public service ethics and accountability (PSEA) at the Connect Function Hall of Savoy Hotel in Pasay City recently.
Breaking the ice was NCSC Chairman Franklin Quijano’s opening remarks that served as a guide on how important the activity was in terms of public accountability in government and public service.
The two-day non-residential course is designed to inculcate ethics and accountability in public service aligned with the govt’s anti-graft and corruption advocacy.
Chief trainer cum resource speaker Civil Service Commission (CSC) Director for Legal Services Dick Echavez provided spunk by sharing his vast knowledge of various topics related to civil service ably explained the basic principles of ethics and accountability in public service.
Among the topics that he lectured were ethics for governance, accountability in public service, ways to improve transparency and integrity, corruption perception index, causes and effects of corruption and consequences of bribery.
Lending full support and sharing valuable inputs on the best practices towards transparency and accountability in public service were Comms.
Enriqueta Rodeles, Ida Yap-Patron, Rainier Cruz and Reymar Mansilungan.
Also actively contributing to the clear flow of the said workshop and were the heads of offices and key staff of the NCSC.
PSEA is intended for senior and mid level managers, frontline service providers, officials. employees performing critical functions such as treasury, civil registry, fiscal management, public works, peace and order and social services.
