NSCR partial ops in late 2027, early 2028

The North-South Commuter Railway System (NSCR) is expected to partially operate by late 2027 or early 2028, according to Transport Secretary Jaime J. Bautista.

“It will be from Clark Airport to Valenzuela City,” Sec. Bautista said during the ceremonial linking of the elevated NSCR viaduct at Bocaue, Bulacan, that now connects the Bocaue and Balagtas stations.

“Maraming magbebenepisyo rito, maraming magba-biyahe comfortably and we’ll see to it na ang fares diyan ay affordable,” he added.

The transport chief assured that right-of-way issues are being addressed, particularly in San Fernando, Pampanga, adding that various government agencies are extending assistance in resolving right-of-way issues.

“Pero continuous ang trabaho natin doon. Tinutulungan naman tayo ng various government agencies,” he said.

Currently, the 147-km rail line’s progress is at 51.46% with construction progress at 23.5%.

The NSCR will offer a modern and comfortable rail service from Clark to Calamba (Laguna) through the National Capital Region.

The NSCR System can accommodate as many as 800,000 passengers daily.
