Isuzu’s best bet in the burgeoning local pick-up truck market got another big boost with the entry of the third generation Isuzu D-Max.
Launched recently with the equally popular Isuzu brother Isuzu mu-X, the Isuzu D-Max is rugged and considered the new “muscle for the family” and yet very comfortable and easy to drive.
This was proven in a recent drive onboard the new 3.0L LS-E 4×4 AT Isuzu D-Max to Subic and back to attend the very successful M1 Freedom Party held at the Lighthouse Marina and Le Charme Suites Complex inside SBMA.

The new Isuzu D-MAX is now made even more dynamic and sporty with a redesigned exterior that boasts a new 2-tone front grille matched with its new matte dark gray 18-inch alloy wheels all laden in its new body color.
Running on its Blue Power technology, the Isuzu D-MAX has 4JJ3-TCX diesel engine that optimizes performance with fuel efficiency – tried and tested to give drivers more miles on the road without having to spend much on fuel cost. It cranks out 195 PS maximum power with a maximum torque of 450 Nm. It is available on 4×4 and 4×2 LS-E and 4×2 LS-A variants.
It is also equipped with auto tensioner to minimize engine wear and its durable chassis is bigger and stronger with greater torsional and longitudinal rigidity for improved handling, stability, and durability.

The Isuzu D-Max is awarded with 5-Star Safety by the ASEAN NCAP, thanks to the Active and Passive safety features, as well as Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) with Smart Duo Cam which is loaded with Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Turn Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go Functionality, to name a few. All these features will surely make daily drives safer and convenient at the same time.
Despite the 3-hour ride going to Subic that Saturday morning, the occupants were still comfortable what with the ergonomically designed leather seats with anti-vibration elastic comfort foam and an 8-way adjustable driver’s position. The interior is so spacious and luxurious with its leather trimmings for comfort and ease of use.
There’s also the 10.1 Infotainment system equipped with offline navigation system that keeps you posted and entertained while going on a long drive. The dual zone automatic airconditioning onboard keeps the occupants very cool inside even though the temperature outside was so unbearably hot.
Subic was sizzling hot that particular day and it even got hotter as the M1 Freedom Party slated April 30 at the Marina Complex culminated the week-long celebration for Subic and yachting and environmental consciousness venue in the country. Winners for the 2-day regatta were awarded and several bands played during the night party.
