The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)’s Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) Commander, Vice Admiral Robert Patrimonio PCG, welcomed the Danish Foreign Affairs Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who visited the PCG National Headquarters at the Port Area, Manila, last 09 December 2024.
During the visit, the Foreign Affairs Minister was provided insights on the current situation in West Philippine Sea (WPS) and the PCG’s efforts in upholding the safety and security of Filipino fishermen within the country’s exclusive economic zones (EEZs).
These included the regular deployment of Coast Guard vessels that conduct maritime safety patrols and perform humanitarian assistance missions to Filipino fishermen during their fishing operations.
The officials also discussed possible future collaborations between the Kingdom of Denmark and the PCG, including capacity building programs.
The PCG also provided the Danish Foreign Affairs Minister’s delegation with a guided tour on board BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409).
