The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is deploying 25,000 staff for Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2022.
According to PCG Commandant, Admiral Artemio M Abu, Coast Guard Districts, Stations, and Sub-Stations nationwide will be on heightened alert from December 15, 2022 to January 7, 2023.
This is to ensure that the riding public will have safe, secure, convenient and comfortable sea travel during the holiday season.
“We will also be reminding shipowners to ensure the seaworthiness of their vessels,” CG Admiral Abu said.
“Pinapaalalahanan din natin yung ating mga kababayan na planuhin nila yung kanilang pagbiyahe para maging safe, convenient, and secure yung pagbiyahe nila. Nandyan ang Philippine Coast Guard to help them,” he added.
CG Admiral Abu emphasized that the PCG will continue to assist the Road, Railways, and Aviation and Airports sectors of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in providing better public transportation service to Filipinos this Christmas.
“The Coast Guard is everywhere. The Coast Guard is anywhere. Kung saan kailangan ang serbisyo ng Coast Guard, nandoon po tayo,” CG Admiral Abu added.
“Kapag tayo ay naka-heightened alert, nagtatrabaho tayong lahat. Our personnel are strategically deployed all over the country,” he ended.
