PCSO exec named 2016 Best Social Worker of Philippines

An official of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has won the 2016 Outstanding Social Worker of the Philippines award in the field of Health and Medical Services.

The winner is Manager Rubin Z. Magno, head of the PCSO’s Char­ity Assistance Department (PCSO-CAD), which is housed at the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) in Quezon City.

He received the award from the Philippine Association of Social Workers. Inc. (PASWI) during its Biennial Convention in Clark Freeport, Pampanga, on October 19.

The awardee has made the management and the entire personnel of PCSO proud, said PCSO Chairman Jose Jorge E. Corpuz.

In appreciation of his feat, Chairman Corpuz wrote Magno a letter of commendation on October 20.

«The entire Management and the entire workforce hereby congratulates you for being the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Social Worker of the Philippines in the field of Health and Medical Services,» the PCSO chairman said.

Corpuz noted that the «prestigious recognition speaks of a job well done in your chosen career.»

The PCSO chairman said Magno›s dedication, tenacity, willing disposition and passion to his job as a social worker and head of his Department which lead to the fulfillment of his commitments are highly acknowledged.

«Keep up the excellent performance for others to emulate and thank you for continuously working hard for PCSO for the past 23 years. The PCSO family really appreciates and commends your exemplary achievements,» said Corpuz.

Magno also received a second congratulatory letter from PCSO General Manager Alexander F. Balutan.

«I want to personally congratulate you,» said Balutan, for being awarded by the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI).

He described the award as «a milestone» in the awardee›s career government worker.

«Considering that the award bestowed upon you represents an outstanding accomplishment, we want you to know how proud we are of you as a valuable member of the PCSO workforce,» said Balutan.

On October 6, PASWI through Dr. Bagian Aleyysa A. Abdulkarin, who chairs the Awards and Nomination Committee, informed Magno of the award.

PASWI «extends it warmest congratulations to you» as recipient of the award,» said Abdulkarim.

Balutan urged Magno to continue performing his best to keep serving as model as well as inspire others in the interest of service.

«This milestone in your career as a government servant is the totality of your hard work, dedication and diligence in all your job commitments in pursuance of PCSO›s goal for excellence in implementing its mandated mission,» the PCSO general manager said.#
