From theatre to the big screen back to stage.
This is the journey of the now controversial narrative of “Katips” on the horrors of Martial Law.
It started onstage years ago which was produced by Philstagers Foundation written, directed and acted by Vince Tañada.
Now it has gone full circle.
After its film version which harvested varied and mixed reactions, “Katips” the stage musical is scheduled to revive its live show anytime now.
According to Vince, many interested producers are eager to invest on the theater piece which also drew attention from multi-sectoral segments of goers.
Initially, Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) founder and stalwart Cecil Guidote-Alvarez has signified her interest to restage the Tañada-originated stage play.
“Talagang ipapalabas ulit namin ang ‘Katipd’ the musical dahil ito naman ang (We will definitely reshow ‘Katipd’ the musical because this is indeed the) germ of the idea of the movie version,” said Vince who is busy negotiating with bookers of “Katips: The Movie” abroad.
When”Katips” stage musical had its run some seasons ago, it was presented in many parts of the country to the delight of the audiences.
