Vina Morales fully supports Gloria Sevilla Foundation

Not only were they generational colleagues in the local entertainment industry but their common birth origins made the bond between Vina Morales and the late actress Gloria Sevilla more meaningful and symbiotic.

Vina and Gloria, known as the Queen of Visayan Movies, are known Cebuanos and this affinity made their shared vision doable in many aspects of celebrity lives.

When Sevilla was still alive, she was fervent in the development not only of Philippine cinema as a whole but of Cebuano film industry as well.

This objective was and still is being shared and practiced by Morales in her life as an actress. “Laging nasa isip ni Vina ang pag-unlad ng (Vina always thinks of the development of) Visayan movies just like my mom,” spoke Dandin Ranillo, one of Gloria’s sons and one of Vina’s friends and kababayans.

Morales was one of the first Cebuana celebrity who paid tribute to Sevilla when the veteran thespian died last April.

Meanwhile, when the Gloria Sevilla Foundation was launched last July in Cebu City, Vina was thoughtfully in its spirit because she was in the US for a concert.

Isa si Vina sa (She’s one) staunch supporter ng (of) the Gloria Sevilla Foundation which aims to sustain the Cebuano film industry and to support not only Visayan film artists but all movie personalities who need help in whatever capacity the Foundation could extend its support,” gushed Ranillo.
