The funding infused by the private sector helps in speeding up aviation projects and improving airports across the archipelago as it fills budget limitation gaps, an aviation official said.
CAAP Deputy Director General for Administration Danjun Lucas said airport projects through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme address problems in lack of public funding and delay in improvement procurement.
Lucas said that aviation development projects are being prioritized due to the limited budget of the aviation agency.
“Pag pumasok ang private sector, malaki po ang capital investment na naitutulong nila para mas mapaganda ang paliparan,” the CAAP official said.
Private funding is not limited to airport improvement in facilities, such as the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), Lucas explained.
