RE PROJECTS EXPEDITED TO HELP ENERGY SUPPLY – MALACANANG

The Department of Energy (DOE) is expediting renewable energy projects to boost alternative power sources and help secure the country’s energy supply, Malacañang said.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the government continues to prioritize the development of the country’s alternative energy sector.

“The DOE is now fast-tracking the renewable energy [projects],” Castro said in a press briefing last week.

Castro added that the DOE is currently working to accelerate 22 renewable energy projects, including energy storage initiatives.

The projects include 12 solar developments, six hydroelectric plants, two biomass facilities, one wind project, and one integrated renewable energy storage system.

Castro assured that the DOE remains focused on strengthening alternative energy resources to help ensure a stable power supply.

The push to speed up renewable energy projects comes as the government seeks to diversify energy sources and reduce dependence on traditional fuels.
