After more than a month of grief and lamentation over the death of her husband Trevor Magallanes, actress and comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto has come home from the US trying to be calm and okay about the whole thing.
“Speechless pa din ako sa shock sa naganap sa buhay namin (I’m still wordless over the shock that happened to our lives),” said Rufa Mae in her Instagram posts.
She added that she cannot say anything yet at this point.
“Wala ako masabi (I can’t say anything)…,” Quinto declared.
Magallanes died in the US of yet unknown cause although initially, Rufa Mae promised to announce in due time the real reason behind her hubby’s death but until now, the promise has yet to be fulfilled.
There are social media speculations about the cause of death of Trevor from the remotest like cancer because the former San Francisco policeman was very fit to the most horrific like suicide but the wife is till mum about the issue.
She therefore concludes that she would let things pass by singing.
“…kaya kakanta na lang ako (…I will just sing),” Quinto exclaimed.
In her IG posts, she led her statements with “Tuwing umuulan (Every time it rains…)” which has references in the song “Tuwing umuulan” by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.
“The show must go go go on!” she added which is the usual mantra in show business that despite misfortune and sadness, the show goes on although Rufa Mae managed to turn comedic by prolonging the go expression.
Apologetic, the actress said that her singing is just a rehearsal. “Pero itong kanta ko practice lang to (But this song is just a run through!),” she kind of warned the netizens.
She announced that she is back in the country with her husband—presumably cremains of Trevor—and their daughter, the eight-year-old Athena Magallanes.
Her singing must have something to do with her return to showbiz commitments.
“Andito na kami ng Pilinas (estet) , para mag work (We are already here in the Philippines to work),” noted Rufa Mae.
“Kasama at naiuwi ko na din asawa at anak ko (I am with my daughter, and finally I was able to bring home my husband),” she announced.
Rufa Mae can’t still stop poking fun with her own singing practice.
”I dedicate this song to myself. I hope I like it!”
