Professional rivalry between and among siblings or mere cousins in the biz is real.
But not for singer Gloria Papin, the elder sister of Asia’s Sentimental Songstres Imelda Papin.
Not just as yet.
“So far, there’s no competition between me and my sister,” humbly admitted Gloria in sn exclusive interview at general assembly ov the Citizen’s Information Alliance at the Aberdeen Court along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.
Siblings rivalry has been the staple among warring celebs to attract the attention of the market but Gloria and Imelda aren’t biting the bait to boost their popularity.
“I love my sister so much. I am here to help her,” said the elder sis who formerly carried the screen name Gloria Belen.
As in order in the brood, Glo was the first one to enter show business.
“I think I was able to inspire my sister to go on with her singing career,” said Gloria who is holding an inspirational show at the Novadeci Convention Center, General Luis, Novaliches tomorrow night at seven.
The concert is billed “Gloria Papin: A Night of Praise and Worship.”
“I am more attuned to inspirational music now,” she declared.
Glo has been in the Christian ministry for thirty years even when she was still in the US.
“I’ve spent forty years of my life in the US but I like to settle here. It’s different when you’re in your own,” said Gloria who described that she had good chances singing abroad.
