Officials of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), led by Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, inspected the Baliuag Fabrication Yard of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).
The huge off-site yard of the Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Corporation (SMCC) covers an area of 86,650 square meters. This is where the concrete walls being installed at the subway are manufactured and transported to the subway construction sites.
The yard began operating at full capacity last 02 September 2024 — producing 90 segments daily.
Sec. Bautista said, “The NSCR and Metro Manila Subway not only generate jobs, it will move more people and products. It will cut travel time and boost economic activity in all communities situated along and around the rail lines.”
