The All-New Suzuki DZire Hybrid Media Drive last week simply gave exhilarating experience among the participants onboard the newest compact sedan in the market that is complete with Suzuki’s hybrid system.
The two-day drive from Suzuki Auto Taguig up to La Jolla Luxury Beach Resort in Bataan closely followed the launch of the stylish and smart compact sedan at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show in time for its 50th year celebration. And it simply gave the media a much closer look and feel of the Suzuki’s hybrid system that enables energy-saving features like auto start-stop and electric motor assist.
No less than Suzuki Philippines’ Director and General Manager for Automobile Division Norihide Takei was on hand to emphasize to the participants Suzuki’s continuing efforts to offer innovative and fuel-efficient vehicles tailored for the Filipino market. “The All-New Suzuki Dzire has an advanced features coupled with hybrid efficiency which will redefine the local sedan market,” Takei said during his send-off speech at the Suzuki Auto Taguig of the Autohub Group of Companies.
The almost 3-hour drive to Bataan proved that all-new Suzuki DZire has all what it takes to be a cost-efficient sedan as the winner of the fuel-efficiency challenge (husband and wife team of Lester and Shawie Dizon of Power Wheels) among the 16 cars with two drivers each aboard negotiated the 188-km trek using only 7.11 liters of gas with a fuel rating of 26.44 km/l.
I and my partner Cesar Miguel on Car No. 10 garnered 22.70 km/l on the same 188-km route but with 8.25-liter of gas consumed good for 8th place.
Suzuki Philippines Product Planning Group head Kennedy Adia explained that the car is powered by a 1.2L Z12E 3-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a hybrid system and a continuously variable transmission which enhances both driving performance and fuel efficiency. He added that the hybrid system enables energy-saving features like auto start-stop and electric motor assist that results to smoother acceleration and quieter operation.
The All-New Dzire Hybrid is now available nationwide in all Suzuki dealerships with prices set at P920,000 for the GL CVT Hybrid and P998,000 for the GLX CVT Hybrid. They come in these following colors: GL – Gallant Red Pearl, Arctic White Pearl, Magma Gray Metallic; GLX – Alluring Blue Pearl Metallic, Arctic White Pearl, Magma Gray Metallic
The All-New Dzire Hybrid now has a more refined exterior with a redesigned front fascia, chrome-accented grille, and multi-light LED headlamps and its sleek silhouette and sculpted body lines flow seamlessly into its new rear combination lamps. What I love inside is the spacious cabin with a premium, dual-tone interior accents, improved ergonomics, and a driver-centric dashboard layout with the GLX variant equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen display audio system – compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also has six airbags now standard across all variants—including front, side, and curtain airbags for comprehensive occupant protection, Electronic Stability Program, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Hill Hold Control, and rear parking sensors with a camera. Combined with its reinforced body structure, these advanced safety features have earned the Dzire a prestigious 5-Star Global NCAP Safety Rating for Adult Occupancy, offering confidence and peace of mind on every drive.
