It’s never too late.
Love is lovelier the second around.
After four and a half decades, actress Irene Celebre and singer Archie Perez de Tagle crossed path digitally.
“Arte sent me an online message about his intention to reconnect with. I kept in thinking who must be this Archie who called me. This suddenly, it dawned on me, ‘Oh, my God! Archie Perez de Tagle was my first boyfriend,” Irene blurted out in a casual conversation.
And her romance with Archie is rekindled.
“I became a mother. He became a father. We got children. And now we’re together again,” exclaimed the actress who has just turned sixty seven years old last Saturday.
Irene celebrated a grand shindig at the ballroom of Astoria Hotel in Pasig City where Perez de Tagle, who came all the way from the US, attended the milestone.
Archie is the son of the late popular Filipino singer Sylvia Latorre.
“I left the Philippines in 1984. I went to the US and worked there. I came back in 1988 and returned to the US afterwards,” recalled Archie.
His love for Irene has never faded.
As a matter of fact, it even brightened when they reconnected through Facebook.
Both are now single so they have all the time in the world to be one.
During Irene’s birthday, Archie offered her marriage.
They got engaged like a whirlwind.
Celebre is the picture perfect of a happy woman and Archie as a happy man.
Irene is now sixty seven years old and ready to embark on another romantic and exciting journey.
Gabby Eigenmann, Celebre’s son with the late Mark Gil is doubly happy for her mom. “I wish her all the happiness,” wished Gabby.
