Vincent Co and Bea Alonzo

The piecemeal admission of Bea Alonzo’s love affair with Vincent Co

It’s no surprise anymore that Bea Alonzo would finally admit, albeit generally, that she and Puregold’s Vincent Co are indeed, a romantic pair.

It’s typical of showbiz denizens to reveal a sweetheart relationship as safe as theirs. No complications.

Bea is single and Vincent is a bachelor.

No illicit, indiscreet liaisons here.

All is in the open although the disclosure is gradually calibrated as in piecemeal.

That is also understandable in their case and the cases of other budding romances in legit statuses.

Even dalliances (estranged husband or wife in an out-of-wedlock folly with other spouses, ex or current, for instance, swapping), playful adventure like two-timing boyfriend or girlfriend like actress Melissa Mendez’s confession to vlogger and entertainment writer Morly Alinio that she used to be a playgirl—“masarap maglaro (it’s fun playing around),” she said; odd coupling; gayness as in BB Gandanghari (from the pretty looking macho Rustom Padilla) or more recently, the gay love and wedding of actor Andrian Lindayag with non-showbiz guy Michael Dychiao, are also taking the same route—first, hiding confidentiality especially problematic or against social standards or keeping an open secret (especially true in tolerant circles or societies), then gradual opening up and eventually the affirmation of concealed reality or affairs depending on ideal situations or circumstances and right timing to come out the truth.

In journalism, most of the time, the issue initially comes out as a blind item, juicily presented and then slowly revealed the real identity and state of affairs when parties are pushed to the wall to admit or deny or wreak havic in public or just keep quiet.

When Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde were initially dating, it was a no-no reveal yet for the former because fans of AlDub would get jealous with Arjo and their hero-worship to the phenomenal love team would crumble, a warning sent by their handlers and marketers.

A public show-off was in place to appease the fans..

But not for long.

Later, Maine later became transparent and honest about the whole thing that she and Alden Richards were just screen lovers but not sweethearts in real life which the masses would love to hate.

During the height of the Coco Martin and Julia Montes tryst, it was obvious that they were indeed twosome but they kept mum or denied-to-death over the issue.

The infanticipating Julia at the time was photographed with hidden cameras.

When the pieces of evidence were spread out on social media that spawned loud talks, Montes just feigned on them as in Filipino expression “deadma.”

Until such time that the real score was exposed sans fanfare, without them admitting verbally but actions and video clips were louder than words.

Bea and her ilk knew how to play the marketing game of a controversy especially to their advantage as long as it isn’t malicious and destructive.

Not completely admitting it would add mystery to the person or the situation that would increase her or his net worth and popularity.

Guessing game has its own way of rewarding its stakeholders like the media.

And then, there is a school that believes that being in the news no matter how scandalous or preposterous is still news.

Negative publicity is still publicity as long as it’s not libelous or slanderous to the people involved that could ruin their reputations.

Now Bea has the gall to say “I think it’s obvious that we are together” as if the media has lagged behind.

Still, the saga hasn’t ended yet as she has to say hook, line and sinker that yes, she and Vincent are officially on.

Nothing of that sort yet.

Only fabled statements came out of her mouth lately.

“The most beautiful things in life are kept secrets,” she exclaimed.

That is also the beauty of a calculated giving away the real score—it creates suspense and prolonged interest that makes one a newsmaker.

It would never be anticlimactic that one day, at the right time, Alonzo would face Boy Abunda in GMA Network’s “Fast Talk” to tell all with or without Vincent in tow.

That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
