Travel reminders for the peak holiday rush

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, Filipinos hold family reunions, attend religious celebrations or take family vacations.

Travelers just need to be reminded of some useful tips to make holiday travel less stressful.

Arrive early at the airport

Allot enough time going to the airport – 3-4 hours before flight departure for domestic flights and 4 hours for international flights.

Check-in online

Long-lines can be avoided at the airport by checking in online through your airline’s website.

Passengers who check-in online and do not have checked-in baggage may go straight to the boarding gates. They only need to show the digital boarding pass to enter.

Pack your bags wisely

Passengers are allowed to board with one carry-on bag that fits in the overhead bin and one personal item – purse, small backpack, laptop bag – that fits under the seat in front. Both bags must not exceed seven kilos in weight. Bags not withing the allowed size and weight will be intercepted and tagged as check-in baggage.

Self-tag baggage

Guests coming from select domestic stations (including Manila) are encouraged to self-tag their check-in bags before proceeding to the counters for bag drops. Check with your airline’s baggage policy.
