This is what Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista underscored during his speech at the start of the 2-day Land Transportation Office (LTO) Operations Forum 2024 last September 26, 2024.
“It is our collective responsibility to make sure we are doing everything to prevent accidents, save lives, and create safer roads for all. LTO should be at the forefront of this advocacy. You must not allow yourselves to be distracted from this critical role. It should be your daily mantra: “Ensure the roads are safe,” Sec. Bautista reiterated.
For his part, LTO Chief and Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza emphasized their continous push for reliable, efficient, and digitalize LTO operations and to undoubtedly comply with their marching order given by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Sec. Bautista.
“Ang LTO, you know today will not be the LTO tomorrow, and tomorrow has arrived. Change is going to happen. Unang una, kailangan nating tuparin at kailangan natin i-implement ang instructions ng Presidente to digitalize the services of LTO. Maliban sa digitalization na utos ng Presidente kailangan na din nating ipatupad ang utos ng ating Secretary. Ano ang kanyang utos? Simple lang, ito ay road safety,” LTO Chief Mendoza said.
The said forum gave updates on crucial topics such as management information, ARTA/Citizen’s Charter, administrative and operational matters, law enforcement, and traffic adjudication matters, with the attendance of various heads and employees of regional and district offices of LTO.
